Christmas Palm
Christmas palms are native to the Philippines. They can be grown in USDA HARDINESS ZONES 10B-11. Most books will describe the Christmas palm with a moderate growth rate. This has not been my experience. They grow fast. Expect 2’ to 3’ feet a year from this palm. The Christmas palm gets its name from the fruit it produces which turns red around Christmas time. Christmas palms are self-cleaning; trimming fronds is not required as this palm will do it for you. The Christmas palm can reach heights of up to 25’.
